Need some ideas on headlight bucket repair

The area were the spring attaches to inside the housing is broken. so the bucket just flops around in there. I do not want to buy a whole new housing because this one is original and already painted. I need some fix ideas. and from what i have seen on the net, there repair kits are not what i need. Thanks. Oh 65 mustang Drivers side.
 
yeah that pot metal is fragile for sure. i would have to put a piece of metal across first and maybe try your idea. I was thinking that an epoxy should work fine since its not a structural piece and then i can maybe do that so the spring holds.
 
Do a search on ebay. You will find a guy that made a mold for some die cast parts thet get JB welded on and it fixes the problem better than new. No repaint needed either. I bought them first time I saw them. They are a bit of work to install but are good quality
 
yeah i don't think thats what i need. I have to look again. unless thats were the spring mounts to but that pic he has sucks. lol. would be good to see that with the headlamp and bucket installed.
