Alright I went to the local 1/8th mile track the other day, and with the listed mods below in my sig ran a 9.232 @ 78.192. I backed the run up with a 9.25, and two 9.41 runs. I wanna quiz you guys on what should come next. I know one of three things will get me into the high 8's. A gear, some nice drag radials, or a set of heads. If i go with the gear it will more than likely be a 3.73, I drive this car everyday to work and school and I have to keep it fairly tame. If i do heads, I think I will work a set of stock e7 heads Ive got laying in the garage, reuse the stock sized valves and do some bowl and port work to them. The only thing hurting my times right now is the 60ft time, I know the car has the power to run high 8's if i had traction, but I dont. All the times i've ran at the track( which has been 5 or so seperate trips) the car has been on street tires. I wanna know what you guys think will be most beneficiary to me at the moment. I believe a gear would help the most right now, by the way I still am running the stock 3.08 gear. I think with a gear and ported heads i could be in the mid 8's , and with a good set of tires low 8's. Another thing , I know I can get a set of gt-40' on ebay or something for around 400-500 but I'm more than likely just gonna do all the work to these heads myself and reuse the stock valves, so I'm looking to get out at around 200 bucks or so, plus i wanna see how fast I can get on these stock heads. Any comments or replys will be appreciated. Thanks guys

you pretty much answered your own question. You said you don't get traction now, why would strapping more horsepower help in that department? i would cast my vote in for some better tires and maybe some suspension parts like LCAs or struts to help with weight transfer. 1/8 times all come from the launch, you don't have the time to make it up in the top end
