What do you guys think about the CAIs that are sold on ebay?
There are some really cheap ones and don't really say much about them?
Should i trust them and save some money?
Anyone got one of those?
I bought one off there and it fit great, works great, and looks just as good as any other one out there. I also saved $100 from buying a BBK that I put towards a steeda triax. You do the math... I have pics and a review on my cardomain website if you wanna check that out.
I think *Most* will agree on making your own. Lots of posts on here about it. Good luck with her whichever you do. If I HAD to choose a fenderwell kit I'd go with the full Densecharger setup. Careful though don't want to confuse your MAF.
ebay is the way to go, look is all it will provide you with no matter what company it is.. thats the only reason i didnt go home made.. so go ebay like most people will say and theyll look great, and you can even hear it sucking
Just bought one off e-bay for a friends truck, and I must say it seems of good quality. I bought it because it was black chrome, and without high expectations, but it was a pretty nice piece!
I would stay away from "Bomz" units that are sold on Ebay...I purchased 2 and got boned on both....I was looking at them only for the price of the tubing for fabbing my Fox set-up..
the 94'95 set-up came with the wrong rubber to connect the TB to their tube???
W.T.F. is this !!!! they were contacted and never sent me the correct tube..
I purchased a 2nd one in its place(strictly for tubing lenght) this unit came and i returned it per thier instructions via UPS...got screwed on that as they never returned my money....
Been screwed only once on the net, and Iv'e bought prolly 6k worth of parts online...and i get boned on Ebay of all place on a 48.00 CAI...go figure ???

The think is that there are so many and hard to choose.
Why do i see different pieces for the same car model ones?
I wouldent wate my money on a CAI they dont do anything. If you really want one then make your own and save alot of money. Id put my money towards something else like a bigger mass air meter or at least something that will actually make a diffrence on the car.
The thing that sold me on the CAI idea was when I datalogged with the filter in the engine bay. With just a minute idling, the air going into the engine would get up to 150 degrees! Even when cruising, the air temp never got below 120. Since the EEC pulls timing as the air temp increases, that is where the performance can me affected as a result of the hotter air coming in. That is why I moved mine out to the fenderwell. Now it never gets more than 5 degrees above the outside air temp.
It is really easy to build your own with PVC and some FERNCO rubber connectors. Put your money into a new mass air meter.
