I have a 93 GT that's been sitting for over 2 years in a garage. I'm trying to get it back to road-worthy status, but I have several issues I need to troubleshoot.
Car details:
1993 GT hatch
5 SPD
GT40p heads
Explorer intake
65MM Throttle body
94/95 MAF
UD pullies
3G Alternator
Electric fan
Here's the backstory from 2 years ago:
Car had seemed rather down on power and would occasionally (~3x) stall out and not even crank until I towed it back to the garage. Then it would fire up the next day and be fine. Well....on the way to work one day, it stalled out again but would still crank. I couldn't hear the pump priming so I towed it back to the garage and figured the pump went out. I swapped the pump out and it idled for about 2.5 minutes before it died. I parked it after this for the past 2 years.
Problems at the moment:
1) It sounds like the pump is constantly priming. I don't know if it is actually the pump or not (it doesn't sound as high-pitched as the original pump).
2) I connect the battery and the power locks instantly lock. I can't unlock the doors via key or lock button unless I disconnect the battery.
3) I can't pull the codes. It does nothing (because the pump is constantly priming?)
4) Oily residue in the TB/Intake. Is this OK and/or how much is too much here?
I plan on going through the no-start checklist, but was wondering if there was anything that stands out I should look at?
Thanks!
