Need to replace the A/C hose protective cover

I need to replace the A/C hose's protective cover where can I buy one made for a 90 5.0 mustang or what can I use instead?

go to home depot or lowes and get the pipe insulation that is split length wise with glue to join the seem.

I tried that it and the heat from the manifold melted the foam. I ended up just putting wire loom on it to cover it at least.

They have some designed to hold up to high heat. It is not split already though. You will have to cut it length wise your self to get it to go on. Home Depot has it. Make sure you check that it is rated for high heat and you are good.

What would be the ill effects if it not there?
