I am going to install an MSD digital window switch and I need some wiring help. Which coil pack wire do I splice off of for the rpm signal. Does it matter which cylinder I use?

thanks
Tim

Shouldn't matter - did you know MSD also makes a digital window switch that taps into your tachometer?

Doesn't matter which coil you tap into...the particular wire you tap into does though. You want the odd colored wire. Open two of the sets of wires going to 2 different coils and find the common colored wire. That is NOT the wire you want.
Best of luck!

That switch is awsome. You can use whatever cyl you want. Every COP has one RED and one ODD COLOR/STRIPED wire going to each. get your signal from the ODD COLOR/STRIPED one , then just set the switch to operate off of one cyl and your good to go. and I'm pretty sure that switch can except a tach signal, but the negative from a coil works great. when you start the car it will give a digital readout of you RPM, use the test setting on the dash to compare and make sure its accurate.

Well today I finally got off my arse and installed this thing! I wish I wouldn't have put it off so long. This thing is pretty damn cool! Works flawlessly!

sorry for the late response - my unit is not digital - it uses the RPM chips.
