Ok so I do believe the rear main seal is bad. (oil leaking from that area) My question is is I have a torque converter that I want to put in at sometime, so could I kill two birds w/ one stone? When I have the torque converter put in will it give the mechanic access to the rear main?
I called a tranny shop and they said they could do it if the seal is a "one piece" if its a two piece they wouldn't because they don't like to get too involved w/ motor they say. So, what do we have one or two piece rear main?
I did the same thing when I had my clutch replaced. I figured while they are in there and have everything apart they might as well since it just hit 100k. No charge for labor just for the seal. I believe mine was a one piece.
