Just got my Tungsten Metallic Grey 06 GT Wednesday and luvin it!! Finally joined the forum and looks like I have a lot of reading to do.

My question is this.. I want to take my GT and do a throwback of a GT-350. What is every ones opinion of doing something like this? Pro's, Con's extra...

I want to do it right and what I have in my head so far is this-

Aesthetics

>CDC louvered C-pillar scoops for the Quarter window
>Street Scene Ducktail Spoiler (I wanted the CDC ducktail but it covers the middle brake light... not sure if I care but my dad pointed it so I looked at the alternative which is what I listed)
>CDC Aggressive Chin spoiler (On this I'm not sure if I should paint it Tungsten Grey or leave it black.. I'm almost opting to leave it black???)
>Duel rally stripes from end to end w/ the GT-350 stripe on the sides

Performance

This is were my reading comes in.... I'm not sure what I want to do in this arena. I would like to throw the ram air kit in but I'm not sure what performance increases would arise if any and I don't think the GT-350's had ram air. This choice would also be because of aesthetics.

Gotta pick an exhaust and headers

CAI ???

Chip and tuner??

I have read a couple threads about CAI and exhaust. Very cool and I will have to do some more research to figure out exactly what I'm gonna do.

Lots of resources here and I'm just glad to finally participate!!

Congrats on the car -- great color choice. One thing to consider when doing a G.T.350 "throwback" is that Ford or Carroll Shelby himself may do one. If that's the case, then you've got a "fake" (or "clone" I believe is the more politically correct term). You may not care about this, but I'd feel bad when asked, "Is that a real Shelby?"

yeah... I saw the pics when I googled GT-350 a few hours ago. Carroll Shelby is doing it (maybe). If that is the case I would not put the GT-350 graphic on the side of the car. Someone did one with an 05 and it looks good. Black with Gold rally stripes.

Sweet!!! I heart Jack Roush Mustangs..

I forgot to add I may get the grill that moves the fog lamps into the center. Paroosing google images of older GT-350's (65-66 era) rear spoilers were non-existant from the way it looks. It doesn't look like they added the ducktail spoiler until 68 or 69.

Yes I live in east Vancouver, I'm a member of the National Bullitt club & SAAC NW (PDX Shelby club). The wife and I will be at the May 6th event at Suburban Autogroup in Sandy, OR showing both cars. Look us up.

I have an 06 gt convertible, and i have roush pulleys, roush rear panhard bar, a FR strut tower brace and a flowmaster exhaust( and im running Royal Purple )on mine and so far these modest and cheap improvements have made a BIG DIFFERENCE! I get better fuel econony than my mini van, but with the added fun!
My next purchase this month or next is gonna be a roush supercharger.( i couldnt get a cobra cause i was 50th on the list for 6 so my goal is to beat them )
