Well I got my new BBK's 4.6L 2v Valve covers. . . kinda bland. . . nice design. . . Oh umm I was wondering if the NON-polished (Titanium powdercoated) ones could be painted to look not so machine color. The one design listed here is the one I have.

http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=BBK-1804&N=0&autoview=sku

What I was looking at is haveing the entire thing , minus lettering, painted a color that when installed and when u see the engine U see these first (eye catcher). Well I'd appreciate any assistance or Information that can be provided.

I have the chromed ones and like them. I was torn between them and the ones you got.

I would think that you could get them powder-coated - would turn out really nice. I'm always hesitant about spary painting items like this because you don't want heat to be an issue and peel the paint.

Probably wouldn't cost too much either as they're not big and wouldn't require too much prep.

Call some shops and ask for a quote!

What color is you GT? Luckily my Mach is blue and I bought the Ford Racing blue valve covers. They look kick ass. I would think powdercaoting them whatever color your Mustang is would work. It carries the color theme into your engine which sets it off nice.

If I get the P&P npi heads im thinking about then i will prolly get some valve covers too but not sure on what ones to get.

The ones in the link look pretty cool I like the lettering on them and yes the plain black stock ones look ugly.

DO not spray paint them they will look good for about a year and then they will start to peel and look like a$$

Not true that they are junk per say, but not the best to use if you do not read instructions (or the shop doing it doesnt' have experience with BBK VC's) or if you're doing the swap with the motor still mounted in the car.

The issue w/ the BBK covers is that the gasket is plastic, and there is no ridge in the valve cover for the gasket to align to. There are washers that need to be used as well that go around the bolt holes to prevent the valve covers from being over-tightened, causing leaks.

BBK's site has some points in their FAQ section.

FYI - lots of ppl here seem to like team breed VC's, but I don't..

I dunno, I think the BBK's look ugly, why would anyone want a big embossed BBK logo on their valve covers? The breeds are great because they look like the stock ones but cast alumn. Guess its all a matter of oppinion, heres mine with the machined portion painted black.
