Hi im new here, i just bought my first mustang today. Its an 85 5.0 with a 5 speed with an 89 body, engine and interior. It has a short throw shifter, a centerforce clutch and a set of flowmasters. other than that, its pretty much stock. the battery is in the trunk.

If the body,motor,and interior are from an 89 what part of it is an 85?

The unibody is from an 85, the fenders ect are 89.

They sure did a nice job with the conversion. Can't even tell it's an '85

I don't see a Mass Air sensor though, and if the parts car was an '89, it should def have one. Pull the computer and see what the code is. You might be running an 86-88 wiring harness and ECU

Yeah ill have to double check that. The previous owner was not they guy who did the conversion. Ill check the code.

Seems like a lot of work to make an 85 into an 88...

not to be a downer but you should hope its not a stolen 88 with a re tagged vin. I only say that because ive seen it happen before.

It is an 85, the guy owns a business updating fox mustangs.

Shocks towers give it away that it is an 1985. The caster plates used on 87+ are not there. Instead it's setup like an '85 would be.

Also, the power steering reseviour is off a 1990+

I'd just confirm the ECU code as the MAF is not present. However, i do see a vac line on the BAP, so i assume this car is running an 86-88 Speed Density system

lol i know i had to ask i wasnt trying to be a **** ha ha well any ways your car looks sleek for an 85
