Happy holidays to you!
Here's a link to some vids.
http://cobracari.com/
scroll down the home page.
The first is from corral day. It's the first time out with the new engine/five speed.
The next is a qualifing round at the modular shootout, It spun real bad but ran 10.80 something.
The third is final round at the shootout.

A guy asked me on another forum to measure the runners, so I thought I'd add the info here as well.

Here is what I get in measurements and these are rough because they were done with a tape measure.

Measuring from the inside of the runners from the head mounting flange to where the runner ends inside the intake (not including all the way to the 4150 carb mount flange) I get roughly 7 inch inner runners and about 7-1/2 inch outer runners. If you want to add runner length all the way to the 4150 mount, add about another 1-3/4 inches.

From the floor of the intake to the 4150 mounting flange I get a depth of about 3-1/2 inches.

The opening at the 4150 carb mount is about 3.7 x 3.6

The intake height is roughly about 6-1/2 inches tall.

Hope that helps!
John

Your going to see a lot of 5.4L SOHC and 5.4L DOHC swaps going on since intakes and adapter plates are out. I guess it's going to be about the same ratio as the 302 to 351/460 swapped mustangs.

Regards,
John

well how many navigators were made each year? How many were wrecked? You can use DOHC heads from pretty much any engine but the navigators seem to be in good supply right now.

After looking at 03bodyinwhite's car it looks like that intake will clear the stock hood with a 4 barrel throttle body. Is the throttle body adapter really necessary? I guess if you want to supercharge it would be the way to go.

Have you seen any pictures of the adapter? Do you know the expected release date? I will be superchargeing mine so will want to utilize that elbow. I hope it looks a little nicer than the unit made by the EFI spyder people.

The 90" elbow to throttle body would be a necessity in most applications, like boosted apps, retaining stock electronics with mass air, etc. I believe if you ran the 4 barrel style throttle body you'd lose the mass air intake system and therefore be running speed density or after-market ECU's. Just my guess based on common sense though. But for n/a or direct port/carb plate nitrous cars, this 4 barrel type TB would be fine. (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

I haven't seen any photo's of the elbow to TB yet, but word was back in Dec that it would be out in about 3 months.

More pictures coming folks... Just ordered an Accufab 80mm race throttle body and 90" EFI Spyder elbow. I'll have total intake height measured soon.

If you dont mind me asking. How much money have you put into the engine so far. Man your car is going to be sick once its finished. I wish i had the cash to start a project like that. Sucks to be 18years old with no money.

That is absolutely freakin gorgeous man. You're getting close to installing aren't you? I can't wait to see some numbers from your setup before supercharging.
