I just replaced my battery, but the motor will not turn. Just before replacing the battery I jumpstarted it with the old battery in. Why will it not turn now?

540 CCA battery

Cables connectors are clean and I checked the voltage on the battery and its normal.

Anyone have an idea?

Did you hook the jumpers directly to the battery terminals? That will fry something, I can't remember what it is.

I learned the hard way, you need to use the engine block for the ground piont on the vehicle being jumped.

I grounded to the block when I jumped it.

have you checked the battery cables and the ground cable connection on the block.

try connecting the jumper cable from the NEG side of the battery to the block and see if the engine will crank. if it does, then there is a problem with the ground cable from the battery to the block.

Put a wire around the negative bolt on the clamp and the other one to a bolt on the intake and see what happens.

My WHOLE life (20+ years of driving) I hooked red to red, black to black..I never had to use the block for a ground. With that said, this may be the only way to tell if the ground wire is indeed bad!
