I'm needing new car seats for a 2000 Gt, all the seats that I am looking at do not come with brackets.

1. Are new brackets neccesary?

2. Where can universal brackets be bought?

3. How long am I looking at for a driver and passenger seat install?

Any input would be appreciated.

P.S. I'm not a leather man, so canvas would be the material I'm getting. Oh, the stock seats are heavy and unnecesary.

I asked the same thing and can't get a response. Maybe everyone still has nice seats.. I know my driver one is trashed. When I swapped out leather seats from a Mazda navajo to my bronco.. I just reused the bronco mounts on the navajo seats.. worked like a charm.. I hope this is the case when I trade my seats for a set of sport seats.

Lighten up buddy. It's the internet.

When I saw car seats, that was the first thing the came to mind. Trust me, we didn't think you were putting airplane seats in your Mustang without the "car" specification in front of seats.

It really all depends on what your replacing your stockers with. What kind of seat are you looking at? Corbeua makes brackets for their seats but I also believe they make bracket adapters. Some people just fab the stock brackets to work with other seats as well. As far as removing the seat its only four bolts and should take no more than 10 minutes.

I would love to have a new set of corbeau's... $1200 for a pair of leathers is a lot of money but damn are they nice!

Or keep an eye out on some other sites for used ones.

I picked up my CR1's w/ brackets in like new condition for about half of that.

Some ebay canvas type bucket seats is what I am looking at. I'm not having the time to keep those leather ones clean and supple.
From what the web site states the seats fit, the seats don't come with the brackets I'm thinking I am needing.
So any ideas on where some brackets can be found for a 2000 GT.

I don't want to beat a dead horse, so apologies to those who i've already told this to. But we're getting ready to release Upholstery and Foam for the 94-98 & 99-04 GT Coupes and Convertibles. Should be ready in the next few weeks. We'll initially be launching them in either the original Leather/Vinyl combo or you can opt to save a few bucks and go ALL vinyl. From there we'll be offering them in a type of cloth but am unsure just yet on which material we'll be using as the OE is no longer available. Keep an eye on LRS and CJP as they are eager to get these seats up when they are ready!

Just thought i'd let you know, in case you were wanted to keep your originals!!

I love that TMI is doing this, however I'm going to guess that for the foam and leather covers it will cost over $1000 to do a pair of seats... honestly for that kind of money I myself would rather have a nice pair of leather Corbeau's... no offense to you or your company TMI

No offense taken N8

And your about right, for instance LRS has our 93 Special edition white leather pony seats on sale right now for $640.00 for the set (not to shabby for real leather ) - and the foams run $120 a piece - so you're right, almost 1k into it by the time your said and done.

On the flip side, we're all about originality and factory patterns - tis our niche! But if your all about four point harnesses then the call is totally up to you. Make sure you hit us up for that back seat though and we'll call it even

Trombone - we only manufacture the upholstery and foam, which then has to be purchased through one of our dealers. Guys like LRS , CJP, NPD, etc.. The upholstery then has to be installed over your existing frames!

Any round about price quotes?
Can the installation be done by a novice mechanic or needs to be done by someone whom of which is an expert in upholstery?

I'm asking because my body gets the quivers when a grand is thought about for just seats, my driver side seat is worn through the leather and a quick fix; besides seat covers, is needed. Decent priced quick fix that is.

No idea on pricing just yet, as we haven't even priced them out to our Dealers just yet. But as always we'll try to keep it affordable!

As for install - i always say attempt it yourself , if you don't like the way it looks you can then opt to take it to a shop! (just go slow and take your time)

As far as brackets I would suggest something like the Corbeau adapter plates that allow you to use your stock seat tracks.

I bought a set of Corbeau CR1 seats on craigslist for $200.00 and then bought the microsuede covers from Corbeau for $400.00 and recovered them myself. They look brand new.

I also replaced my non working power drivers seat track with a manual one to save some weight.

You could easily make a set of adapter plates yourself to mount most any aftermarket seat in your car.
