Hey Guys, I just picked up and '95 GT for a fix-up type thing, it's got shorty header's and 40 series flows with an h-pipe, I also have an '04 Mach 1, as you can see by the name...I drove my Mach 1 everyday to high school, and I want to make the GT a track car, but to start, what's the best exaust for my '95? And How much do you think it would cost to bore and stroke my engine, and how much of a stroke is possible? I am about to paint the entire body white like the original color (the guy before me painted some black stuff on it) And I want to chrome my wheels, anyone have any pictures of them chromed? Thanks guys.

White?Yucky!! Is the black stuff primer? For your engine, the max safe bore and stroke is a 347. There are plenty of kits out there and they are reasonably priced. With the kit and machine work look at about $2000 for a short block. But if this is just a project race car then I would say go with a 351 stroker since any stroker is going to need an intake heads and cam, a 351 based stroker wont cost much more than a 302 based stroker. You can get up to 427 ci from a 351. Thats 80 more cubes than a 302. Just something to think about. Or if you dont have much money, just get a semi-built 302 from DSS or something and put a supercharger on it. How many miles are on the engine right now? Also, if you stroke it, your most likely going to need a cam and heads to support it. Lastly, whats wrong with the exhaust now? Obviously you can do better by getting a Bassani setup or something else pricey, but what are you looking for in an exhaust? Does it have cats on it, and do you want cats or not? If youve got shorty headers, an aftermarket H-pipe, Flowmasters, and its 2.5 inch exhaust, then you should be fine with what you have unless you dont like the sound.

What's wrong with white? White can look very good if done right. Plus repainting a car a different colour from the original is a major pain in the ass (if done right)

No the black is a ll professionaly pained, but it is just the hood and a few otehr things, but the white on teh doors doesn't really match very well, so I need to repaint it, and I don't like teh sound of my car, it is too, I dunno, wierd...Where can I pickl up a 351 for cheap, is it like a Windsor or Clevland? Short or long? Thanks for the help

You don't need a 351 to have monster power. You can easily get a 302 to pump out over 500 hp. A good H/C/I combo and a blower ought to do it......simple, it just takes $$$

Yes you can make power with a 302 but if your going to track the thing, and you want to stroke it and do a H/C/I then you mine as well do a 351 based stroker since it would cost just a little more. And yes, its a 351W or Windsor. Besides if you are going to do a supercharger with HCI then you really need a stronger block, and a 351 is stronger then a 302. You can get a race 302 block but they are too expensize at $2000.
