Just got my car all back together and running but my tranny barely goes into any gear at all. I know that the problem is my clutch cable due to the fact that I put a King Cobra but my question is what do you all recommend for me to buy to fix the problem. Should I just buy a whole new cable or just a new kit with the adjustable quardrant? I want the easiest fix with out spending a ridiculous amount of money.

The reason I ask this question is because I know there are so many options is this dept. and I want to hear what really works the best for a decent amount of money. Thanks alot.

YOu need to adjust it. If you have stock stuff, try pulling up hard on the clutch pedal and then take it for a spin. The best bet for you is keep the stock cable and get a steeda quadrant since it has multiple hooks and get a firewall adjuster. This will cost you like $60 for the parts.

Tyler, my choice recently was to get a new OEM cable (50 bucks shipped). Dont know if you need one.
I replaced an old school single hook quad with another one - from UPR. Also used a UPR FWA. Both were about 50 bucks shipped.
EDIT: I see you have LT's - an SN95 cable would be better for your application. They cost a little more money. See MM's site for decent SN95 cables.

The Fiore stuff (FWA and quad) looks to be second-to-none but costs a little more. Their FWA looks sweet.

Some guys get ebay special kits (cable, quad and FWA). I dont have exerience with those. I will say that the Ford cables are best (both the adjustable and OEM-non adjustable style worked well for me).

How much do you have to spend (or how much can you allocate)?

Good luck.

Its supposed to be self adjusting, by doing what I said you're helping it self adjust. The stock stuff is junk except the cable.

Dan is correct about the cable - it is not adjustable. The quadrant and pawl are what allow adjustability.

Were it me and money was not super tight, I would get an SN95 cable - nice to replace it and be done with it. Then I would run the Fiore FWA. And the quadrant is up to you - I have never run a multi-hook one like most folks so I cant offer help. The single hook UPR unit is fine by me. However, I would like to try the Fiore quadrant. Below I put a link with more info and pictures.

If money is tighter than that allows, if the stock cable looks ok, leave it. This frees up a decent chunk of change.

This article, by Jeremy Thompson (V8 only) might help you decide.

Good luck bud.

If anyone wants a Fiore click type FWA drop me a line I will charge only for shipping say $5. Is is brand new never used. My mechanic and I decided it was not worth the effort as my bolts are all messed up.
