For those who are not aware of this news released today.

"Obama will direct federal regulators today to move swiftly on an application by California and 13 other states to set strict automobile emissions and fuel efficiency standards." Obama stopped short of a reversal of the Bush administration emissions policy, but it is expected he will. :nonono:

The stricker emissions and fuel standards could mean the end of performance cars in the future. I'm wondering how this will effect us guys and gals that add performance parts on our Mustangs.

Anyone heard anything more?

It wont stop the odd emissions shop that wants to make an extra buck or two...

Also, in terms of emissions and fuel economy, the SUV's will be the first to go. It shouldn't take too much to make a V8 mustang pass the new laws.

I don't think that sportscars are endangered. Even with the new emissions requirements it seems like that would just effect the stock setup and it would take just a little but of tweaking to adjust the car back to it's full potential. I don't claim to be an expert or anything it's just my thoughts. I agree with Dan it'll be the big SUVs and trucks that are going to be effected most.

Either way... big trucks SUV... if you own your own buisness and THATS your means of doing your buisness your once again killing the small buisness owners... The more S**T changes the more it stays the same ! And not to worry .... the modding will go on! Once youve been bit... those pesky emissions laws really dont mean to much .. (just get your stang now)!
