I only got one run in because the back of my intake was leaking oil, found a puddle on the engine block and some trickles of oil on the H-pipe.

First let me tell you that this ET was directly into a 20mph HEAD WIND, with gusts up to 35mph (does anyone know how much this effects ET?). Track Elevation was a couple hundred feet and temps were in the mid 70's

60 foot: 1.94 (forgot to air down the Nitto's, they were at 38psi)
ET: 13.24
mph: 104.7
car weight w/ driver: 3475

I thought this was pretty good considering I was running the conservative tune of the 3 on my JMS chip. Haven't even had this thing on a dyno yet so I don't know if its running rich, but it smells like it.

Our Mustang club had a race against an Illinois club, I beat every stock 03 Cobra at the track and a few modded, that made me feel good.

Not bad! Do you know what my car ran on its first trip to the track with my current setup? 13.6 at 103mph... now look at my times after a lot of tweaking and tuning.

Wow! that makes me feel good. Well if everything holds up my next mods are going to be upper/lower rear control arms and maybe some ET streets for my 16" pony's.

So you went from 103 to 111mph just with tuning and tweaking? That says alot!

Tuning, tweaking, learning shift points over, etc. If you want to get technical, I went from 13.6 at 103 to 12.56 at 109.11 in street versus street trim. 111.15mph came with the shortbelt and removed pass seat.

I have a shortbelt but didn't use it, I wanted to get a baseline with street trim. I have ASP pulleys and use a 595K6 to bypass smog and powersteering.

Zenboy, I didn't by chance ask you for a belt at byron did I. I was the black gt that was leaving to the parts store when you were waiting to weigh in. I dunno for sure but just wondering.

EDIT: Yes it was you. I was there with CPONYGO but waited for my friend in the caddy so we got up there at 2 or 3. LOL, that headwind was crazy.

Nice time zen, I'm sure you could have brought it down some more that night if you could have got some more runs in.

Those are very respectable times !~!~!

I'm glad I read this because you've given me hope as well. My two best runs late last season just after getting my motor done were 13.69 @ 104.6 mph and 13.66 @ 103.20 mph with 2.1-2.2 60 ft's. These were also untuned with the stock EEC.
I discovered 2 weeks ago that I'm also running pig rich at WOT (10.1:1) so there's more to be had. You may be in the same boat.
I'm looking for a DFI or Holley Commander to tie it all together.

Good job,

Rick

Numbles, yep that was me. I'm glad you came on here and justified that wind for me, my friends were running 0.2-0.4 slower then normal.

Did you ever find a belt?

An F-Body acquaintance of mine while at the track last week stated to me that he actually achieved his best ET with a head wind. He figured that the extra wind blowing into his intake ( ram air type setup) helped give him a little extra boost.

But shouldnt that little extra boost be taken away form the wind hitting the front of his car

Who knows but he ran his best ET of 12.4 xx with a head wind. He usually runs mid 12.5's.

Byron is god compared to GLD. I was running 15.3 and 15.4's at GLD last week. And Im running Consistant 15.1's at Byron with a 20mph headwind. Definately go to Byron instead.

And I got a belt just fine. I went to napa which was closed because it was sunday. That was 20 minutes west of byron. Then we asked a gas station and the nearest auto place period was in Dixon which was another 25-30 minutes in the same direction. I then got the belt and came back to put it on my car and Byron. To find out that it was about 1 inch too short. So We put it on anyways and it just bypassed the idlerpully.

O,well what are you going to do when you have no patience to go back. But you missed a fight. A couple of guys were drinking on their truck and lended me some tools to get the belt on. And some drunk guy was sortof talkin **** about my car. But he owns a mustang thats broken right now so we know why he hates mustangs at the moment. Then somehow someone asked why I bought a convertable instead of a coupe or something and the drunk guy was ready to knock this guy out. On top of that the guy drove an SS which, well, im done hijacking you thread.

Good times BTW. I cant wait untill I go to byron and there isn't a 20 mph headwind. There always is.

Did you degree the cam in? If so, was it far off from 0*?? I think you need to hit up a dyno to see how good the chip tune is.
