I just got my car back from the exhaust shop today. They did a great job. I removed the 3" Magnaflow system and installed the smaller 2.5" pipes instead.

In the picture below you can see the centerlink. It's gorgeous... so was the receptionist at the machine shop that made it

The red bracket on the left is my 2 to 1 lever to make my short stroke clutch MC work. It makes the pedal rather stiff, but it sits almost level with the brake.

Not yet... I don't have anything to record one.

Yes. They're just for tuning purposes.

Not yet, but I asked her if she would let me take some pics of her with my car, and she said yes. It's too cold right now... have to wait 'till spring.

Yes, it's the J car rack. I believe it's the '86 to '92 design.

Man, I really like the fit of those accufab headers. Looks like they are tucked up at the frame level. 2.5" exhaust (IMO) is so much nicer to work with. Your's came out great!

Are you using stock height engine mounts?

Yes, in fact the engine mounts are stock replacements with a hole drilled through them and a bolt to hold them together.

The Accufab headers do fit incredibly well, but you have to put the engine at 4 degrees to tuck them up tight. With the Tremec trans that meant I had to modify the top to allow it to sit high enough, similar to the way Keisler does to their "perfect fit" Tremecs. What you can't see in the pictures is that the #8 tube extends too far rearward and fouls the brake line, and the #7 tube rises unnecessarily leaving very little clearance with the #8 spark plug wire. The short term fix was a piece of exhaust wrap for the brake line, but I plan to take them back to the exhaust shop to modify those two tubes this winter. Then I'll send them back to Jet Hot for re-coating. Am I the only one with a lifetime membership at Jet Hot?

No,
you are in very good... or maybe I should say very bad company
It's when you start getting invited to their company functions, that you realize, it's time to implement the "5 Ps"
In any case, very nice work.

Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance.

At least that has become my battle cry lately. I've thrown away a serious amount of money on past projects.

i don't know if Gmachine has any plans to market his rack or not but if he doesn't there are several companies that are offering the J-car rack in varying forms.

www.randallsrack.com
www.steeroids.com

i believe unisteer is planning on power rack using the J-car rack

Is there any difference in performance or did you do it solely on the basis of sound?

I enjoy following along on your build. Nice car.

Did you post why you went down to the 2.5" from the 3" setup? 3" too loud? I have the 2.5 Magnaflow myself and it is quite loud. Almost too loud around 2200 RPM, but id does sound excellent when I get on it.
