I'm a new member with an 02 GT vert, bone stock (K&N air filter, silencer removed). I'm looking to upgrade my exhaust system, and have been trolling the MustangExhaust forms and sound clips. But now I'm more confused.

I'm looking for a LITTLE louder exhaust system, but not too loud. I would like it to be quiet at idle, louder at WOT. Can't wake up the wife in the morning. In fact, I kinda like an 03 Cobra stock sound.

I'm looking at welding in Flowmasters, MAC Flowpath because (I know you guys won't like this), believe it or not, I like the stock GT tips and these seem like they will sound about right. Plus I'm not to much worried about flow. Anyone know what the part numbers are or where to buy these?

The only other thing I've thought about is the Ford Racing cat-back. But there is not much info on these. Are the tips like stock? How's the sound? Overall quality?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

if you keep the stock midpipe you will have a hard time making it very loud.

you catback is stainless so at least get stainless mufflers. I prefer borla and bassani but that is just my taste. if you like chambered stuff look at mac, flowmaster, spintech.

I would not do the ford racing catback as it will not change the sound enough IMO.

the only downside to welding if mufflers is just if a shop charges you too much labor. the stock cat back has two different size mufflers and the hangers are welded to the mufflers. so it can run you a couple hours labor.
