The title says it all. I just put a new fuel pump in last weekend. Now, as soon as I shut the car off the pressure drops to 0 immediatley. I have heard of a bad check valve in the fuel pump. How bad is this for my car, is it something I need to address immediatley(I dont really want to drop the tank again any time soon) or can I let it ride for a while?

well with a bad check valve you may notice a few things. that, and the car will crank for a long time before starting. there is no serious damage .... other than long cranking hurting your starter..... let us know what you find....

on the other hand you may be loosing pressure from a leaky fuel injector as well....

I was tinkering around yesterday and I noticed that if I turn the key to the on position but do not crank the car, the pump will prime and the pressure will go to around 35 and stay there after I take the key out. It is only after I crank the car and then turn it off that the pressure goes to 0 immediatley.
