Hello! I bought my first Mustang this summer. It's an 88 2.3L 5 speed. I picked it up off Craigslist in Houston, TX. It ran pretty good when I got it, but didn't have a chance at passing the emissions test (scored 720 ppm hydrocarbons, allowed is 220 ppm). TPS voltage was way off, base timing was at 20*, thermostat was in bent in the housing.
So far I have replaced the hydraulic pump ($10 at Pull-a-Part), got it to pass emissions, replaced a busted taillight, gutted the intake muffler, and put a set of ponies on it. And wheel bearings and brakes.
Its been a fun project so far!
