Hey guys.. ive been browsing these forums for a while and figured i'd register and introduce myself. I live in dayton OH, and drive a 94 mustang GT.
The car is powered by a 347.. its a CHP stroker built on the R302 block. CR is 8.5:1, the car will be boosted some day. Ive got X303 heads, the e cam, and 1.7 rockers, GT40 intake, 70 mm bbk t/b, granatelli 75 mm MAF, and 40 lb injectors. Tranny is an Art Carr AODE, gear is 3.73... ive got a cardomain site if you wanna see it

I plan on hangin out here and postin a lot.. theres lots of activity around here. :flag:

p.s. i dont have the motor broken in yet, what kind of et should i expect with this combo?

Welcome to the forums. and nice setup with the car. I dont know how well you will do in the quarter but 12's are likley maybe even 11's but with low compression I dont know. Get it boosted and you will see 11's for sure.

Welcome again.
Dan.

Welcome! Nice car too! I hope I'm proven wrong, but I'd go expecting mid 12's at ~110mph out of that combo, but that is just a shot in the dark. There are a lot of unknown here that I'm assuming with this guess. With practice, weight reduction, etc I can see low 12's but I'll be evry surprised if you hit 11's with that combo. But, best of luck to you in getting there! How much machining was needed on the r302 block? Any overheating issues?

Thanks for the kind words guys.. good questions too. The Art Carr tranny is very, very nice. My old beat up 302 could only get me 15.0s, but the tranny would break them loose with ease on the 1-2 shift. The block did need some additional machining, and as far as I know the cylinder deck high had to be machined along with the cylinder walls of course.. and I *think* the lifter bores had to be machined too. I have the stock radiator and it is running nice and cool.. which is a surprise because the R302 block has fewer water jackets in place of the old 302 water jackets. Im only expecting mid 13s first time out with this combo, all my money went into the motor so I couldnt afford a chip or any exhaust exept headers :( ive still got the old clogged cats and stock cat back. I would really like to see mid to low 12s possibly high 11s with no turbo yet. Again thanks for the kind words.. 335 miles so far, only 165 to go, then its time for the real fun :D

I have a buddy (posts on here LAST302) he has a very similar setup.
R Block, 8.5 CR, AFR 185 Heads, Holley Intake, and a full exhaust....he runs 12.50's on DR's

Nice ride...and love that block! :D

Chris, he is exactly who I had in mind when I made my guess! His car is so clean too! He traps 109mph I believe.
