Hello all...

I've recently been checking out the v6 mustangs. I've also been contemplating between the auto and the stick. What would the advantages be for picking the auto (and installing a shift kit) vs. picking the manual. I've never driven a stick before and fear that I would find it more of a nuisance to shift than its worth. How hard is it to install a shift kit, and what would the price be for it and possible labor (since I'm not mechanically inclined). Also, do these shift kits cause excessive wear to the tranny? Finally, what is your overall opinion on the 99 mustang v6 whether its auto or stick?

Thanks a lot

Evan

Well from what I hear, stick shifts are a pain to drive in traffic but otherwise pretty fun. However, if you plan on racing, I'd recommend a stick.

I drive an auto btw.

Go Stick

my opinion is go for the stick, in the long run you'll be more satisfied just being able to control the cars power. Once you drive stick for long enough you dont even notice. Plus its definitly way funner than an auto.

Hell I have trouble driving an auto everytime I go to push the clutch in I slam the damn brakes if I'm driving an auto, it doesn't look good in the middle of traffic.

Plus, with a stick, I can talk on the cell, eat a cheeseburger and suck back my coffee, all the while shavein' in the mirror. it ain't that hard.
