Cool sounds like you got a pretty good one. Does it have a WiFi card? Mine does, and it's the best thing to have at school. I go to Sacramento State, and you get superfast wireless internet everywhere you go. It's awesome. You'll love it.

Mine's a 1.8G P4, 512 mb, 64mg GeForce 4, 40GB drive. It doesn't look flashy and cool like the new laptops, but it's pretty fast, and I only paid $425 for it on e-bay.

Yea my laptop has an integrated Lan card built-in and i run a linksys g router and it does wireless internet with a breeze and no loss in any performance. I picked the AMD laptop cuz i have an AMD desktop and it is smokin fast. I picked it over the Intel Centrino for the main reason other then i use AMD a lot and love it, but it has 64 bit technology for the new windows vista 64 bit edition with all the most powerful 64 bit software to come in the future

I don't think Gateway is bad but i got a 3 year service plan on it so its covered hardware wise for 3 years with free parts and labor, so any probs. and it will be fixed so i don't got any worries. I wanted HP but Gateway is fine with me. I just want the AMD 64-bit Processor and Media Center. Media Center is pretty sweet

Nice. I just got a laptop also.

Dell 9300
Specs:
1gig RAM
256mb GeForce 6800Go
2.0ghz Intel Centrino
100gb Harddrive
Samsung WUXGA 17" (high res widescreen)
dvd/cd burner

got that all for $1,300. Would have been over 2k, but I found a $750 online.

that is a nice comp. also, i bet that is a 760 Centrino or so to be a 2.0 Ghz, i wonder how that would compare to my AMD 64 Mobile processor 3400+ its a 2.2 Ghz. I am adding a 1gb Chip to give me 1.5 GB this upcoming weekend when i get some cash. I just wish i had that vid card that would be nice! is urs a media center? if so, whatcha think?

Sounds like a nice setup. Now de-install and delete Norton. It will feel 100% faster, it's like going from 2.72 to 4.10 gears!!!

I would love to get rid of Norton and Spysweeper cuz they do slow it done with all their searches and things but they rate really high in PCWorld. They are 2 of the best programs in their divisions so i will keep them plus it only cost me like $4.00 for each copy with my discount. I wish my discount would take more off of the cool ***** but hey i get good deals on a lot of stuff.

My Gateway laptop is 1.6GHz, 512Meg, 80 gig, CD/DVD burner, big azz screen, blah, blah, blah. Got it for $650 on Ebay. It was a return at Circuit City. It still had all the stickers on it lol.
btw, I've had 3 Gateways with absolutely no problems. That includes my desktop that I've had since July, 2000.

Hey you got a really good deal on your centrino. That is a good buy. it was a toss-up between my gateway w/ media center ---> 80 Gb Hard Drive ---> AMD ---> ATI Vid Card or else a COMPAQ with a Centrino ---> 60 Gb hard drive ---> just XP ---> Intel Vid Chip. I picked the Gateway. Wanted HP but it was like 1,200 for a good one.

Sounds exactly like the Notebook I am using right now. I usually wouldn't buy gateway, I'm a Dell guy but I got a good deal.

Sounds like a nice puter man.

I have a Toshiba Satellite and a Compaq Evo. I never really use them (always on the Dell desktop that FoMoCo gave me for free).... but I LOVE the Toshiba. Once I get my office complete, I'll be using the Toshiba alot in there.
