I checked my plugs and at 50k miles they are as tight as a (fill in the blank) and didnt appear to budge at all.

How often should you change the wires?

99+ modulars utilize coil on plug, no spark plug wires to replace. The coils get replaced pretty much whenever they fail resistance tests... and a failing coil can by spotted by swapping the suspect from the misfiring cylinder with one from a properly firing cyl, and seeing if the misfire travels with it.

You don't have wires but you do have the coil boots that go bad. Check them when you change the plugs. They can go bad just like wires. If they are dry or cracked replace them. I had a miss in mine that I couldn't find. Changed the coil boots and fixed the problem.

I was referring to the boots (mini wires ) on each coil pack
