my vortech kit that I bought and it came with a maf extender from mph. Now what should I do? should I use the extender with a lightining maf? do I need it for the lightining maf? or should I drop the money on something from sct? is there any issues with running the extender? thanks

Thats weird mine never came with that, they must have just started adding that. I would use it if came with it, Tim put that in the kit for a reason.

Is this to extend the wires of the MAF or what? If it is definatley use it because the shop that installed mine streched my wires so tight they were rubbing on the opening thet run through and eventually cut through the wires.

Oh ok, well then you can use it but shouldn't have to. The LMAF will be plenty for you, they max out at about 450-500rwhp.

I would call Tim up and ask him about using it, he could have set up the tune with that factored in.

Oh my bad, when I read mongoose kit I figured you bought it from MPH. Since you didn't and you have to get a tune then its totally up to you. I personally wouldn't run it because it will be a little harder to tune and there is really no need for it untill you peg the LMAF.

If and when the time comes you peg the LMAF I would look into an SCT2400 thats what I got and its great and was very easy to tune.

i personally prefer a bigger maf as opposed to a maf extender. either will do the trick, the bigger maf is just a little more straight forward. i would only use the maf extender if your tune is set up for it.
