Hey Guys

I recently purchased a 2001 Black GT. I think that it already has exhaust judgeing from the sound and the shape of the mufflers. Anyway, I got an awesome price on the car and I was planning on getting a short shifter: either Pro 5.0 or Steeda. Which would you recommend? Also, what other mods would you do first? I was thinking about CAI, but I didnt know which kind? Anything you all have to offer would be a great deal of help.

Thanks

I can't say anything on the Pro 5.0, but I can say that I loved my Steeda tri axe!! It made shifting through gears a pleasure, and the spring action sends you straight into 3rd from 2nd with precision. So I say Steeda.

As far as CAI...do a search on K&N FIPK, Mac straight shot....and probably stay away from most other chrome ones though, as they look great, but heat up a lot. (My Mac CAI would be hot as hell after a while).

I agree completly, the tri-ax is great, and very simple to install. As for cai, like 95cobrastang said the K&N FIPK gen 2 has seen some nice gains, as with the straight shot. I've also heard that densecharger has some good kits as well. I would stay away from the chrome though. Chrome=hot! I would also recomend a gear swap if you are planning on a short throw shifter. I just got my 4.10's installed today, and I swear I can't imagine driving it with the 3.27's. Even 3.73's would be a good choice. I would highly recomend some gears, they will make a world of difference. Just my .02

Cannot go wrong with either shifter. I have the best of both worlds. I use the Pro 5.0 base with the Tri-Ax handle. The Steeda handle provides a better reach than the Pro 5.0. I just have too short of arms. Also like stated earlier, you need to get some gears. See if you can drive someones that has 4.10s it is like night and day. I will doing mine in the next few months. CAI issue will be on what you want. Most only give a few hp if any.
