That trunk with the 1000, there's only enough room for the boot. It's funny. I have to take the boot out to put anything else in the trunk. How does that Mach 1000 sound? I've heard one in a coupe, but how bout a vert with the top down?

"Suspension/Shifter/Header-Back exhaust" "4.10 Gears and SCT Tuner, Catback and midpipe and headers" "dampers" "chrome aftermarket wheels" "4.10s, lowering springs, blower" ...
Man, you guys must be made of money! As I said, it took everything I've got to get her. I think I'll start with a K&N air filter. And maybe some "303 Aerospace Protectant" - That I can afford. :)

Seriously though, recommendations on where to get some of the more affordable of those suggestions would be appreciated.

One thing I like the most about this car is that it's got everything I wanted - and more - and it's all factory. Particularly those wheels. Finding them on a SN vert wasn't as easy as you'd think. What I would like to do is see how much rubber (tall and wide) I can squeeze into those rear wheel wells though, but preferably on those rims. Suggestions?

I haven't had the 1000 past 1/2 volume yet. At that, it makes the wing and the license plate (and any back seat passengers) vibrate. And they can hear me coming home from a block away. Very clean sound though. That extra bass makes me feel the need to turn it down a bit when I'm sitting at a redlight though. It does live up to the advertising too - at speed, on the interstate, with the top down; it will drown out the wind. I may look into pulling out the 10's now and then in favor of more trunk space for long trips, as I've heard others do.

If you get new stock spec dampers at AutoZone and install them yourself you can have new dampers for about $100. By dampers I mean shocks and struts. Very easy to install...

When you install the K&N be sure and remove the intake air silencer. Its a snorkel-like piece that inserts into the fender well. It just pulls off the airbox.

I am glad you are going to use 303 Aerospace Protecant. It is awesome, it is SPF 40, and it can be used everywhere on the inside and outside of your car except paint, glass, and carpet. If you get overspray on the paint or glass do not worry it cleans off very easily unlike Armor All.

it's ALMOST perfect: automatic! bleh!

first mods? ... 4.10s, lowering springs, blower. :nice:

I'll take the 4R70W over the craptacular 3650 anyday of the week and twice on Sunday :D

Your car is definitely more rare than mine, especially that it's an 03 with an auto, parchment interior, and mach 1000. I suggest only tasteful mods. Springs, grill delete, rims & tires, and a power adder down the road. The K&N is a waste of money IMO. I have one with and one without, the only difference I noticed is when I removed the snorkel - and that was a bad result - felt like a loss of torque in the low band 1K-3K RPMs.

Sorry, some of this is Greek to me. The 4R70W is a replacement transmission - or just a clutch plate?

I agree with the modest mods.

The 4R70W is the automatic transmission in new edge Mustangs.

The 4R70W is absolutely superior to the TR3650 if the TR3650 is in stock form with all its manufacturing defects.

Here are some things to remember about 4R70W:
-you cannot out shift an automatic
-serious track guys use automatics
-for $1000-2000 the 4R70W can be made into a freaking awesome piece of machinery
-drivetrain power loss only increases about 5% with the 4R70W
-no clutch to replace
-YOU MUST INSTALL A TRANNY COOLER!!!!
