New motor build, lookin for tips for more HP

I had a 347 (look in sig below), crashed. Its all gone.

Im looking for 650-700 hp this time. My thoughts where a low compression 347 with a supercharger, but was also thinking of a 351 stroked to a 418, carb or efi with a supercharger. If I went this route whatr the hack do I nead for a 418, meaning injectors, mass air meter, throtlrbody, ect. Can I get this out of a cabed motor too. Ive been readin throgh all of my back issues of 5.0 and MM&FF any tips would be cool.

Big, big, and big. 90mm MAF, 90mm TB, at the very least 60 lb/hr injectors, you'll have to have a complete fuel system done cuz the stock lines aren't goina feed a boosted 418. I would stick with fuel injection, but that's just me. You'll also probably need a custom tune. 1 3/4" or 1 7/8" long tube headers with a 3" exhaust.

Head, cam, and intake. AFR 225's, custom cam, and CHP Spyder or Edelbrock Victor EFI intakes. I plan on building a similiar combo without boost.

i disagree a little with jason. i agree that you will need a 90mm mass air. but the 90mm throttle body is a little too much in my opionion. you will have serious driveabilty issues. i say an 80mm throttle body or would be sufficient. also i think the 60lb injectors would be to small. i think that your going to need to go to bigger injectors.

The supercharged 347 will easily get you 600-700hp. I can see over 1000hp if done crazy! You will be needing a good block. Get a dart block, get a forged crank neutral balanced, good forged rods, i'd go big on the bore to around a 360". You can go big bore on dart blocks and still be fine! I'd look into some afr 205 or 225's, tfs R heads or something 'big' in that class. At least a victor intake, 90mm tb (no its not too big like kiddies will tell you). You'll need a good fuel system like bigger lines and stuff and good pumps. You will need a very big injector. Look into a big blower too.

This sh it won't be cheap your wife will definatly leave you LOL :D

Thanks for the info.
So basically 90mm mais air meter, 80-90 mm throtle body, and AFR head, which I was goinf to do. I had TFS heads on the 347, they were nicebut I hear the AFR heads are better. I do plan on a stanf 3 port and polish. When grn92lx said a 360 bore, what is he talking about? I would do another 347, but with a 418 can I get more? Ant more help woul be great. Also the fuel lines. I will run a cell. So Ill need a bit of help on this. I plan on a year build. My budge is around 12k on the moter. is it possible?

12 g's for everything might be a little tight. the block, rotating assmbly, heads, intake, and blower setup will take up most of your budget then you need to factor in all the supporting mods and the nickle and dime bull$hit, machine work, tuning. make a good comprehensive list and go from there

My combo:
dart block,eagle 408 kit,12:1 compression,cam motion custom hyd. roller,tea ported tfs track heats (flowed 315in/235ex w/ only a 2.02 and 1.60 valves!),Edelbrock super victor,Barry Grant 950 race demon RS.For that little (ok, big) extra bit of power a N.O.S Pro Shot Fogger :D .

btw,we drive this car on the road, its very streetable.

But to tell you,imo its alot easier and cheap to set up the carb.If you like the smaller motor, you could do a blow thou carb with a super charger or turbo.
