New o2 sensore = better gas milege?

I think one is going bad, so Ill change them both.
My odo never worked so I could never be sure of the milege I get in my car, but today I had to take the store truck around where I go to school and I recorded the miles and did the math and I am getting 11.5 MPG on the HWY. That is horrible. So will new o2 sensors bring that up a little?

And will these work fine?

Depends on your exhaust but I have O\R H-pipe and I put new O2 and it doesn't changed anything because they're suffocating without the cats.

Right noe I have straight pipes.O/R H and dumps. Im getting some mufflers soon. But i wont get cats.

So 11.5 MPG is right?

I would get the O2 from a parts store with the harness already on it. I looked at going this route and heard horror stories about going this route.

I bought some Bosch from Autozone...

What kind of horror stories? They are like half the price.

they are $65 at O'Reileys, $45 with my discount.

Yeah, somethings not right with you fuel consumption. If you have stock gears and a relatively stock motor, and assuming you don't do double the speed limit, you should be getting at least 20mpg on the highway, or more. Hell, I'm relatively stock except for the exhaust and 3.73 gears, and I have managed 26mpg highway. I only get about 14-16 in the city though.
O2's could be the culprit, its always good to change them if they are pretty old anyways.

I'm getting like 19 mpg even with the 373's

i have like 8mpg since 3 years! changed o2s, did everything... and i dont speed at all.

www.oxygensensors.com I got the denso ones for $42 a piece, they work well, no problems yet....

Having cats or not having cats wont make a difference in O2 readings...

The O2s are before the cats...

I just recently got the Bosch one's from AZ. My mpg got a little better .... but it still sucks. I'd like to find out what's making it so bad. Replaced fuel filter, air filter, o2's, plugs & wires, etc. Still sucks.

you should get better MPG ... your codes say your running lean so its probally dumping fuel to compensate...

have u guys cleaned the maf sensor?

Mine was 12 but moved up to 15.4 all city. I could get like 25-26 hwy though. I did lots to improve it. cleaned maf, o2s, gutted cats, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, new converter, tire pressure was good. It drove me crazy trying to figure out why it was so bad in the city.

i get about 10-12 but i gun it all the time, I got 17 the other week with some highway and some gunning too, I could get 15 for city and well over 20 hwy if i tried to.

clean your maf like they said?
also mine sometimes gets 11mpg and sometimes i get 17. Avg about 15.
all with same driving habits
my car is retarded

You can check the O2 signal return function for amplitude and switching. You'll see the sensors range from ~0.05 to 0.95 volts about once a 1/2 second or so with a DMM.
As sensors age, they lose amplitude and frequency. When it gets bad enough, the CEL comes on. For what they cost, I like to check the switching myself with a meter.
