Welcome to the board. Yes I agree, race him at the track. Also post pics of both of the cars together...mmmm money shot. Again welcome, and you have a great car, they are making lots of power.

A 1970 stock 302 (Boss= 4 bbl) made 290 hp, was a much heavier and did not hook up very well.

If his car is stock youll blow him away.

If both cars are totally stock, you should be able to beat him easily, but if he has modified his car you could be a much closer match...Good luck.

maybe the boss' from 70 didn't 'hook-up' as well as the mustangs of today, but parnelly jones won the 1970 scca-trans am w/a fleet of b2's.

as i mentioned before, i am telling my machinist on monday to do whatever it takes to my motor to make sure i can beat her, so it won't be stock.

hey machgirl (my wife), he who has the most money will win!.

sreiously though, what a bad@ss car. what does the 'srs' on her stang stand for?

can we just change some computer chip and get more power? how about putting on different exhaust? will we get more power?

i guess i would like to know more about some 'bolt-on' power for it.

ONLY a hardcore classic car lover would ask this. It stands for Safety Restraint System and is, basically, the airbags.

stock boss 302 made more than the advertised 290, actually weighed less than the porky new SN95+ stangs, but the suspension is what holds it back

the mach will run quicker, but only because the suspension and 4-spd of the boss hurt it

anyhow, good luck with the mach! you will love the smooth 4v modular power...fun fun fun!

Safety Restraint System! Its your airbags

Off Road X-pipe, Good performance mufflers, New tune (Chip) and some drag radials and that thing will SCREAM. If you got an automatic, get a 4.30 gear put in it.

Hum, let's think about this. These two married people have what is two of the best Mustangs ever made in their garage!!! In my opinion.

The Mach I will certainly beat the the 302 without any question. The Mach I will only loose if you wimp out.

If I were driving the Boss I would just let you win with a sort of a "yeah, I'm so bad I don't even need to race" attitude. Like the way I deal with Ricers.
