New personal best

Well I finally made it to the track after close to a year of not running and I was nice to be back yet rusty at driving. Anyway weather was low 50's high 40's but dew was setting and traction was limted for the most part especially as it got later in the evening which is no suprise for orlando spin world, plus an 1 1/2 hours for a cleanup didn't help either at one point. First pass was a cruddy 3500 launch and the car bogged to a 1.98 60' and I missed 2nd gear 3 times and went 14.1@103. Second pass was a better but spinning 1.922 60' launching at 5500 and dumping it and went 12.947@106.89. Car sat for a bit and dew set some more during this long clean up and on the 3rd pass it went 13.030@107.14 with a 1.920 60' got a tad of wheel spin into 2nd and a nice chirp into 3rd hence the better 60'/mph and slower et. Car got weighed after the passes were made last night and was 3630 with me (i'm 170) Mods are x-cal3 with mailorder tune, off road x-pipe, mac axle back, mt dr's, eibach prokit for what nothing that is worth. Car also has 3.31 gears and is a 5 speed...all else is stock down to the paper filter and shifter. Them times sound pretty decent for my mods?

They were set at 18 psi and I smoked them unlil they grabbed after letting off the brake. I hate the part after making a pass becaues the tires are like you said sticky so it kicks up rocks all over the place. I'll post the video and you can be the judge on wheel spin during the launch. I can't wait to do gears and maybe a CAI.

Here is the pass where I was running against the guy that eventually helped me on my burnouts. His time as 12.7x while mine was a sad 13.3x, but hadn't even begun to get used to doing a real burnout yet He is running MT DRs and is pulling 1.5-1.6 60' times. Of course he has nearly 350 RWHP, but you can see by the length of his burnout that the tires do indeed hook very well! You will notice my tires don't really do much as this was one of my first runs and really had no idea on what to do until later in the day

Our water box is basically a big puddle. From cars constantly driving through it they drag the water outside of the "box". I probably should have backed up more but I guess the reason I didn't was because after I backed up I kinda dry hopped it that's when I pulled forward thinking I was out of the water so I could do my burnout. I assume it wouldn't have spun at all if the tires were dry plus I couldn't see with the dew on the windows but I totally see what your saying and agree. I won't drive through the water box but I will back into it. The front tires will collect water with street radials on the front and you don't want that when you launch. Just like driving through the water box fast it'll kick up water in your wheel well and drip back on your tires while you stage. Do you think I should do my burnout longer though? I haven't ran on dr's much as i've mostly been on street tires nor do I race this car often since the 95 is for that or atleast my wife says.
