OK. I just got my 04 GT. Has a 5 speed in it. What should be the first purchase that I should make. Going to start slow, such as exhaust or shifter. What do y'all recommend???
agree w/ the above post... for the most SOTP (seat of the pants) gain go w/ gears. but getting gears will also need to get the speedcal so that your mileage and mph will be accurate...
and leave the install up to the shop unless you know what your doing...
gears are inexpensive but installing them and getting a speecal is what adds up... i would say look anywhere from $500-$650 total cost for gears...
MUCH cheaper and something you can do yourself would be the shifter... either get a pro 5.0 or a steeda tri-ax... or get the tri-ax shifter and the pro 5.0 handle... best of both worlds
I like aFe filters...they're made better and have 4 layers of cotton gauze. Magnaflow, Flow Master, Bassani, Borla...many choices for exhaust. The Magnapack Cat Back system adds 14rwhp, and the X pipe adds 11 more. The Magnapacks are (off-road) and are loud, so if don't want to scare small children, go with the Magnaflows. Word!
