I am currently in the process of swapping my 95 seats for a set of 05-09 mustang seats. I am wondering if anyone has done this conversion. If so what did you have to do to make them work. If I get no response I will try to post up what It takes to do it as well as some pics. I just like the style of the new seats. They seem to hug you better.

How much do the 05+ seats weigh compared to the 94-98?

edit: I read on corral that they weigh about the same.

If I could get a good deal on some black or red leather ones, I would get them. My driver's side seat is getting worn badly.

The weight is almost the same. In fact by picking them up I think that the new seats are just a little lighter. Just got the seats today. I will see how it goes tonight getting them in.

Really loving this idea! My mom's got an 05 and I find the seats in that to be a lot more comfortable than in my 95, so I'd definitely consider this! Good find

PICS OF THE PROCESS TO COME SOON

This is a fairly inexpensive process. If you have your old seats you can swap them over to the new seats. Yes it is a little more complicated than that. That is why I will be posting pics. I picked my seats up from LKQ for 250.00 for the set. with the seat tracks for the new ones which I will sell and make some money on.

You can make an account with photobucket. Then you should be able to post more images at once using the insert image option.

Ok. I hit a snag. Aparrently the seats I have were from a flood vehicle or got very wet because the seat frames are rusty and there is moisture under the leather. So I am returning these and getting a new set. I will post more when I get more pics.

There's LKQ's all over the country. Most of them are self service salvage yards, we have plenty in the central FL region. I've seen them doing alot of ebay auctions as well.

Here is a pic of the bottom seat frame stripped of all other parts and the 99-04 seat bracket that it will be mounted to. The other picture is of the airbag sensor on the 05 seats that will also be removed because it will not be used.

Here are some pics of how the seat was mounted. It took some time to figure out where the seats would function the best. I cut the threads off of some grade 8 bolts and welded them to the new seat frames so I could bolt them to the seat tracks.

This is the passenger seat. I had to notch the frame so I could get the seat adjuster to work. It is still difficult because I did not raise the bottom of the new seat bracket up at all but it makes it look cleaner. It stays in the same spot most of the time anyways. With it being so close to the bottom of the seat it gives it the hidden look.
