Thank you.. No, not at all.. The silver amp for the interior speakers is only about 300 watts, so it doesnt push too much power.. The black amp is 700 or 800 watts, i forget, but the sub is only 200 watts, so its hardly even working.. lol

The sub amp actually has a built in fan to turn on (2 speeds) if it starts getting warm, it never even turns on.

You are going to over heat the amp and eventually burn it up by having it covered with the insulationand carpet. Just my .02

I have installed alot of amps and systems. It looks real nice. BUt amps get hot and need air flow. Thats why they are finned.

Thanks for your input, but only bigger ones are fanned, for example.. the silver one i have is not fanned. I think it should be fine considering what they are pushing. I guess well see.

I am friends with professional car audio installers, and they put amps under seats all the time, alot of people that put suystems in their cars dont want everything out.. they want a clean, compact look.

I said FINNED, Finned as in the heat sinks. The boards in those amps get hot. They put the heat sinks on there to allow air to pass over them and extract heat. Many of the amps instuctions will even tell you not to mount the amp upside down because the heat radiates off and heat rises so it just heat soaks the amp.
Amps under seats are fine. You still will get air flow. Under carpet and insulation with no air flow just static air being heated up by the amp is not good.

You will know if its getting to hot because when your really pushing the volume if the amp gets to heat soaked it will shut off on auto protect until it cools off.

I mounted my amp on the back of the seat its hidden behind my sub box. I have a total of 10 speakers in my car

Lol, well I have 4 tweeters, 4 speakers, and 2 subs in my DD.. So its pretty powerful, I dont want too much sound from the mustang.. just enough.

Maybe ill try to find a way to get some fans in there too, would help at least.

those amps are going to get hot man.....i wouldnt cover them at all. ive installed alot of systems in my day and never have covered them.......U should make some kind of wooden box to cover them so they get some air flow to them..they will overheat and burn out no matter what size amp and power its puttin out.

I have 2 dash,2 door,2 tweeters mount in pods on door behind the mirrors,2 rears,2 12's and a 800 w amp to push the subs.

Heres the pods. They came from a bmw and were modified a little to work in a fox.

Then again, I never really cared about what other people think..

I put a tweeter in the stock location, and one next to the door handle.. 4 speakers in the stock locations.. and 2 subs powered by a 1600 watt Kenwood Amp
