Went to Island Dragway on Sunday to try experiment with new shorter profile M&H slicks. Time is on sig. below. Both runs could have been better, There was no traction off the line and in between gear shifts, engine heat soaked as other lane took forever to stage with me revving at 2k rpm, and hitting the dang rev limiter 50 feet before finish line slowing car down (on 1st run). My 85 mph in the 1/8 mile tells me I should have hit 106 in the 1/4 mile, as I usually go 84 mph in the 1/8th with 105 mph in the 1/4 mile, but I had to hit rev limiter using lower profile slicks (normally use 26x8 MT slicks). That 12.7 run probably could have been better as car felt like it hit a brick wall hitting the rev. limiter way before the finish line.
Final run adjusted rev limiter to 7200 rpm with PMS and increased fp (big mistake) to 41psi from 36 psi and went 12.828 at 105.44 mph. Car didn't hit rev limiter anymore but ran richer and went slower as indicated in et and mph. Both runs no traction even with 2nd gear burnout via line loc. Should have not increased fp on second run-"live and learn."
