Went to Island Dragway on Sunday to try experiment with new shorter profile M&H slicks. Time is on sig. below. Both runs could have been better, There was no traction off the line and in between gear shifts, engine heat soaked as other lane took forever to stage with me revving at 2k rpm, and hitting the dang rev limiter 50 feet before finish line slowing car down (on 1st run). My 85 mph in the 1/8 mile tells me I should have hit 106 in the 1/4 mile, as I usually go 84 mph in the 1/8th with 105 mph in the 1/4 mile, but I had to hit rev limiter using lower profile slicks (normally use 26x8 MT slicks). That 12.7 run probably could have been better as car felt like it hit a brick wall hitting the rev. limiter way before the finish line.
Final run adjusted rev limiter to 7200 rpm with PMS and increased fp (big mistake) to 41psi from 36 psi and went 12.828 at 105.44 mph. Car didn't hit rev limiter anymore but ran richer and went slower as indicated in et and mph. Both runs no traction even with 2nd gear burnout via line loc. Should have not increased fp on second run-"live and learn."

Yes, I was in the red 86GT. No didn't see the 94/95 as I was too busy setting car up. Drove to track/no trailer queen here. What happened to the 95? There was a big time modded Honda Crx with huge slicks up front and wheelie bars in front of me, who also messed something up off the line. There was like a big bang and he went no where. That day was very crowded according to the staff.

Lots of very fast old muscle cars. I lined up against a 9 second and an 11 second race cars. Took me forever to get there as I live about 60-70 miles from the track. It didn't help having no OD. Drove there via 3rd gear cruising at 2400 rpms and everyone passing me like crazy on highway 80. Did you see that beautiful dark blue vette or Panoz with an aluminum wing on it?

Dang wish I had time to spectate and see that run. That Panoz had beautiful lines along with power to boot. Gonna try to go one more time next week before track closes.

Thanks. She still has more in it considering motor was built for NOS. Only went to track once this season and last time was three years ago. Need more seat time and practice at the track.

willys1 - I'm using the stock cam for now. I might gain a little from a cam but I'll wait till I change out the bottom end.

No, I haven't gotten it dynoed. I figure probably in the 270 rwhp range.

rsw007: Thanks. Your car is flyin for a stock AOD. I need to 60 foot better, like you. Your car is very impressive. You should be in the 12s real soon.

sn9550: Nice website. Your car is mint! Can you tell me what psi you using for fuel pressure and your initial timing? I love your electric fan/radiator setup. Everything is so clean. I have to toss away my flex fan for an electric fan. Keep us updated with your future cam swap.

sn9550: Thanks to you, you are giving me more ideas to do. Like for instance, getting rid of my ac, ps, smog pump and in getting rid of my stock airbox for something similar to your setup. Where did you get that heat shield for your conical air filter?

I got tired of working around my AC plus I only drive it when I want to so I deemed it not necessary. Same goes for the smog stuff. We don't have emmisions tests here, yet.I just put a new rack and pump in other wise I probably would go manual. The less that is on there the better it looks and it's easier to work on.
The air filter setup is a Mac Straight Shot. I didn't notice any mph difference between it and the Moroso tube so the Mac won out.
Willys1 I sent you a pm. I didn't want to take anything away from AOD86GT's thread.
