That looks darker than 30% to me?

Anyway, what is this mole skin everybody is talking about?

i have seen a pic of it, but never IRL. it is supposed to be like the felt from back in the day. it is a barrier between the glass and door components. pretty much a "guide" if you will, helps stop the in and out movement as the window goes up and down. apparently, ford did not design enough clearance into the door, and when you tint the windows, it gets scratched when the window goes up and down.

If it looks darker, it's because the Mustang has a slight tint from factory. I just had mine done and trying to keep the doors legal, which is 35% here in NC, so the tinter could only put 40% on the doors. It then tested at 35%. I said screw legal on the back and went 20% on the back 3.

No diagram, but it goes on the top inside of the window channel and is attached to the hard rubber from the factory.

i would suggest contacting a tint shop in your area. maybe they can tell you about it. they should know what it is, and how to use it.

i called around, some tint shops knew about the moleskin idea, some dont. ALL but 1 said they had zero problems with the S197 stangs. the guy that did, said a girl that works there has problems on her roush, and that ford was gonna warranty the felt and the tint. i call unless the dealer installed the tint, then the dealer may warranty it. with this said, i am gonna take my chances and get the tint, no moleskin. if i have problem, ill post it...

yeah, but if you roll the windows down before the cop stops you, they dont care.....i had 5% on my truck and never got a ticket. as far as Jocelyn, too bad i can never get a morning shot, the pic would turn out 100% better...
