I need some help...Can I put 285/40's (or bigger) front and back on my 03 Cobra with the stock wheels. Do I have enough room up front so they dont drag or do I need to stay at the 275'? I have my sites on a set of Pirelli's but I want the size to match front and back if I can. I dont want to dump any new money into wheels, yet. Whats the fattest I can put on without overwear or risk them hitting metal when I turn sharp? Ideas? I'm not hung up on Pirelli so I'm open to ideas...

I'm not really sure how big you can go up front before rubbing occurs? I would think that there is enough space to allow a 285, but I'm not 100%.

Sorry

i know 315/35/17's fit fine on the back running 10.5 deep rims. DOn't know about the front though. you may have a rubbing problem in a hard turn.......

I'd be careful in front. Check the tire spec for how wide and overall dia. compared to stock. Rear can accept 315s but unless your car is lowered you may need to change the rear IRS mount bolt to a carriage type bolt to prevent rubbing

What set of 17 x 10.5 rims did you go with in the rear. I wanted the FR500's but I have heard they dont fit on the 99+ cobras.

This is what I have on the back also (AFS 10.5X17). The rims fit just fine... it's the type and size of tire you wrap around them which may cause a problem with IRS bolt clearance.
