I have a 98 GT that is stock. I just purchased a 2004 2v 4.6 w/ 6000 miles that i am going to drop in my 98. before I do the swap i am going to p&p the heads and change the cams (don't know to what yet). Not sure what exhaust, or other bolt ons I should buy yet, still doing my homework... Any suggestions would be appriciated. Thinking about a supercharger as well in the future. My question is how much gain should I see from the heads and cams? i know it will depend on what other bolt ons I go with, but i just want a ballpark. Thanks for your help!

You will see a huge difference in power if you have the heads ported right.dont port them yourself and dont have some guy that claims he can do a good job do it for like 200 bucks.Just pay to have a good race port job done and do it right the first time.If the car is a daily driver i would recommend the comp xe262 cams or the xe270's. for your exhaust go with some longtube headers and then whatever sounds good to ya after that.If you have the heads done right and have a good amount of boltons you could possibly see numbers of around 300 or more rwhp.

Thanks for the help... I live in houston, and I have heard good things about Houston Performance. i am going by there today and see what they can do. Your right, i really don't want to have to do it twice! It is a second car and I won't drive it everyday so I am not in a hurry. i would rather the project take a little while longer and get the most for my money and have the right combo.....

A complete bolt-on setup with heads/cams will get you over the 300 rwhp mark nicely.

disclaimer *i have no experience the that shop*...... BUT i've seen their name come up in a negative way 3 or 4 times on some different mustang boards lately. i know a couple guys that made the drive to MPH from houston, & that'd be what i did if it were me you know it'll be done right when you come to pick it up. or, they don't call ya to tell ya it's finished

Thanks for all the the input. no pics yet, will post as soon as I have some. my goal is to keep it looking as stock as possible. Of course that might change as i go forward. i already know i will need more tire on the rear. I know myself and i am already looking at blowers! Don't know how the shortblock will hold up though. Bet i will have to upgrade the crank, rods, and pistons before the blower is installed. Where is MPH?
