I drive a red 98 5-speed mustang..figured I would introduce myself. I am hoping to go 13.5 or lower on bolt ons! Right now I have...Headers, BBK X pipe, Flowmater mufflers, MIL's, BBK TB, BBK C/A and have a Jet Chip on the way! As of now, Im on street tires and a 2:73 gear :-( The car runs very strong for that gearing.

In the future I will be going to a 3:73 gear wi/ springs, control arms, subframes and the widest damn Nittos I can get on the rear wheels ;-)! I still have a few boltons to go...I need to find a good plenum( cant decide if I want acufab, Trick Flow or C&L) and an intake. I'm taking my time about modding and have so far found every part (except the headers and X pipe) used and have dont have as much as others invested in performance stuff! Need a good set of aluminum pullies (thinking BBK, I like thier stuff pretty well). I need some advice on the intake.....I will more than likely get a 99+ 'PI' intake. Anyone have ne experience wi slappin one of those on a 98 car? I know the PI heads will make a 98 motor run like a scaulded cat, unsure bout the intake tho.

I am expecting at least a 13.5 on that setup with a good clutch and shifter to top things off! If I still have traction issues with the nittos, I'll do draglites wi/ slicks. What does everyone else think???

sounds like your going in the right direction,so far. I'm wanting to get in the 13s also, with all bolt-ons first..I'm almost there, but I need alot more bolt-ons (need $).have you took your car to the track yet, with what you've done so far?

welcome to your second home....BTW

Welcome , if you are not going to add a power adder , go with 4.10s , make sure you have subframes before you launch hard with slicks .

Thanks for the welcome everyone...

kj99- I listed my current mods in the first paragraph of my first post. I went 14.02 at 103.2MPH on a G-tech. Obviously running on the street is very different than the track..havent ran at the drag stip yet!

2002BLGT- I will definitly have subframes before a hard launch, thanks for the reminder. I dont intend to go with a power adder, but 4:10's dont suite myh driving tyle very well. I do a lot of highway driving at 70-75MPH..that would eat some gas! If it werent for that I would more than likely do 4:30's! 3:73 will have to be eneough...I may go 3:83 tho if I am unsatisfied.

thanks agian for the welcome everyone!

No power adder = 4.10s

I still get 23-25 mpg on the hwy.

Welcome! Definitely go with 4.10's instead, if you're not going to supercharge the car

Have you considered a PI swap? It is a bit more then just a regular bolt on situation but the gains would be very significant.

Welcome to the boards! And definitely go with the 4.10's! The gas mileage isn't that bad and I drive 75-80 on the highway.
