Hey guys, i bought a 1987 LX 5.0 Hatch about 9 months ago. It originally just needed a transmission rebuild and fuel pump but turned into basically a new suspension, fuel, and steering systems and a new front end.

Now she is running but brakes need a new master cylinder and i have to stop a a leak from the transmission where the driveline connects to it.

Im then gonna put tires on it and get an alignment (the steering is super sensitive and scary and im hoping a professional wheel alignment will help with that) and drive it as my daily for a month and then decide if im going to keep the car and continue to restore it or sell it for either a 4 banger gas saver or a new stang.

I originally bought this car thinking i could get it running and daily it in 2-3 months but that didn't happen even with the help and funds from my dad (im 19, in school, and only working part time). I love V8 cars, mustangs, and i have put a lot of work into this car and dont quite want to get rid of it but at the same time im tired of being broke lol.

ill add some pics once i figure out how

Hey, welcome to Stangnet.

So is your car a real Saleen?

You can't give up on that car. You will learn so much working on it, parts are cheap, they're light as hell.

Tell you what you need to do, go to the '79-'95 subforum general talk section and introduce yourself there. Include some pictures, show us the engine bay. You'll find a great group of people there that will help you with whatever you're working on. If you want to fix something, we've already have done it before and can help you a lot.

If that's a real Saleen, then nice find.
