i didnt know where to post any introduction thread so i figured here would be good because of the car i am picking up soon. i am buying my friends 01 GT for about $7-8k and it has about 45k miles on it. it is dark blue. the only mods he has on it are gears, chip, some suspension, exhaust and x-pipe. i thought i would introduce myself cause i will be floating around here trying to gather info about them cause i am coming from an 97 eclipse to the mustang so its def a difference.

welcome.......... glad to see that you're getting out of an ecplise and into a real car! sounds like a good stang you're going to be getting, has some pretty good mods already done to it. Do you know the specifics on any of the mods?

no not really i havent gotten into that conversation with my friend yet. all i know of is that the x-pipe is bassani but i am not too sure about the others or what the hp/torque is though i am def curious. i think he has the steeda exhaust on it and maybe the suspension i steeda to though im not sure about that too much either. ill make sure to get some details. he also has frame connectors that havnt been welded on yet that he said i could have.

Welcome to the boards....

So what direction do you want to take the car?? It's best to have an idea early, cause once the modding starts...it doesn't stop!

well i am def a speed demon so i think MY first mod should be a radar detector. i def want to go into the direction of good speed and handling cause this will be my daily driver so i can go too crazy and throw a blower on it and run it in the snow with 400+ ponies under the hood. so im just open to suggestions and learning about the car and its platform for a bit to see the best route.

Dang, that is pretty damn cheap. Welcome to the boards.

Also, for further reference, this is the Tech forum. This probably belongs in the Talk forum (link at the top of the Tech page)

That's what I'm wondering, $8k is VERY nice for an 01 with mods and low miles. My friend bought my other friend's 00 GT with quite a few mods and 45k miles for $11k. Congrats, as was stated earlier, V8 with RWD is FUN!!!
