I've been looking to get a bike for a long time and finally just gave in. This is a 2006 Yamaha FZ6 in Shift Red. I havn't had a chance to take it out yet because I have to go get a TIP once the SOS opens after lunch, but I'm ready to roll on this thing. Only bad news... the 5.0 won't be coming out of storage next Summer... sad, I can't afford both toys at once. I'll be paying it in full before the end of next year so the Stang will make a fateful return in 2008.

I'm not too familiar with bikes, but I would like to have one. Good buy, time to save gas money.

I havent ridden one but have heard very good things about that little scoot.
Enjoy the speed, thrust and gas milage (but not buying groceries).

Jinx, that might have been the 5.0 at the bottom of the driveway....

Thanks guys, I've barely been able to peel myself off of the seat, it's a lot of fun for cheap compared to the Stang. 15 highway versus 42 highway is a big jump, eh?

You are so right! I was intoxicated with fast bikes for some time (a literbike and a couple of 750's) and EVERY single day I couldnt wait to ride - often just aimless exploring. After riding stuff like that, my outlook is why bother trying to make cars fast. It can take well over 500 HP to get a car comparably fast.

Look at Andy - since he got his ZX and kinda got re-acquainted with having an everyday bike, we havent hardly heard from him.

Do you have some mods planned for it?

Just like with the Stang I can't wait to dig in and start modding it up, but I don't want to do it until I get used to the bike. I'm new to riding on the road and I figure I really should be careful until I get more skilled. Although when the time comes I'm looking for an exhaust at a bare minimum, fender eliminator, and anything that will make it my own. Just can't spend too much money, I still love wrenching on the Mustang too.

I'm still around most nights just to see whats going on...But yes. I'm riding it everyday and loving it...Car is still stored but wanna pull it out for the FFW show coming up in a few weeks...

I did do one mod to mine as I was bored and figured out how to get it on my lift...I painted up the calipers...
