1/8th mile. I was a little dissapointed untill I realized my MPH was pretty good (I think).

Ran the car with the mods in sig plus 275/60/15 BFG DR's.

Slowest time was my first run, 9.36 @86mph.

Best time was this...

RT: .648
60': 2.134
ET: 9.134 @ 87.21 mph.

On that run I launched around 4k and it hooked, the tire was just too big though and it still bogged down. Im sure I could be well into the 8's with either a smaller DR, or gears and the same tires. Im sure with 4.10's the launch wouldnt be an issue with that size of tire.

Kind of discouraged, but dont really know what to think right now.

If you can get that 60' down a little bit, you should be running mid 8's easily. My best 1/8 to date is 8.7 @ 80 or 81 (cant remember) with a 1.9 60'. On youre run you posted you trapped 7 mph quicker than myself w/ traction, so I think you could pull some mid 8 passes. Gears will help too.

what track did you go to?
i'm going to fayetteville next sun if you're interested in meeting up.

times look about right if i remember what N/A times look like. your 60 ft could be better, especially if you're on DRs.

Holy cow, how are you trapping 87MPH in the 1/8?
My car did 8.20 @ 86 in the 1/8 and 12.79 @ 108.8 in the 1/4 with a 1.89 60'.

Maybe theres something too those big tires, because thats the best trap iv EVER seen for a stock cam/head mild bolton car! Awsome job man!

Maybe the trap timers were a bit off. My best with my stock cam, heads, mild bolt-on car is a 8.06@85mph

Not being mean, but a case of "we told you so." At least now you know. Those tires killed you. You'd need 4.10's to turn those. You could do better on stock street tires. Prior to gears, I ran my fastest times on Nitto 555R D/R's, 245/45 17. I never got to use race tires on my car after the gears, just street tires. With 4.10's you almost need D/R's or E/T Streets to get off the line without spinning.

Yea and your car is one of the fastest stock H/C GTs on SN. MOST guys with mild boltons will go high 70s-low 80s in the 1/8 and around 101-103 in the 1/4.

And wasnt your car in full drag trim with 15s (DOT slicks and skinnys) all the way around...and how much weight pulled?

I knew from the second I put the tires on they would be too much, but wanted to get the feel for running with DR's anyway. But with those tires its definatly going to require a steep gear.

The slip said 87mph, I thought that was high also but, either its right or the equipment is fluky. For comparison my buddys Camaro was running 7.58's @ 105. I really wish I would have checked my speedo though, cause now that I think about it that does sound high.

Either way I had a blast, wasnt going to set any records or anything for my 2nd time on the track.

Saleen, we went to 710 in Rowland. I dont think ill be able to make it up next weekend. I definatly want to do gears before I hit the track again, lol.

dang someone must have dropped a cobra motor in your car while you were sleeping. thats insane cause my best so far with more mods than you was 8.8 at 80.5 wow if your trappin 87 then you should be low 9s with ease.

I guess I should just hit another track and see if the MPH is off... darn, lol.

I probaly cant get back anytime soon, but it sucks BECAUSE WE HAVE A LOCAL TRACK THAT WILL NOT FREAKIN OPEN UP. Its BRAND FRICKEN NEW, re-done, resurfaced, and the one night they did open I couldnt make it... then they shut down.

Heres a video my freind took, I played catch up with teh Fox at the end. Pretty girly launch on my part, haha.

You need to get at least 4.10s and 4.30s would be even better.

From your MPH your 1/8 mile time should be about 1 second faster. With ET more a matter of traction and MPH more a matter of HP. Your MPH HP (flywheel) is like 100 more than your ET HP. To see if it is the track that was off what did your friend have done to his camaro that run 105 MPH in the 1/8 at 7.58. Because his MPH looks high also.

Yep, I was at 3300 race weight driving like it was my last day on earth

Also that Camaro running 7.58 with a 105 is pretty high too. My best on the juice is 7.36 @ 96. Just sounds like the timers were off a good bit......no harm.... he ain't braggin about it or nothing

Definatly not, lol. I was suprised as were a few other people, im not dis-crediting the timing being off at all. Its just a small track in the middle of a field just outside of nowhere...

Either way I had fun, but I know I can do better with some fine tuning. As of now I think im done adding parts to the car except for gears which will be next. After that I may get it dyno tuned cause the canned Diablo tune didnt even get a hair to flinch on the butt dyno.

About the Camaro, its a very fast car. Its a high 10, 11 flat car. Id run out of room listing what it has done, lol.

Has he got time slips from another track? I still think his 105 is high. I think he should be more like 7.05- 7.1 @ around 101.5 If he runs 11 Flat.

He probaly has a whole stack, lol. He would have definatly turned better times but his tranny wasnt shifting out of 2nd, on his would have been fastest run he had to let off about 3/4 of the way down the track when it started smacking the rev limiter.

It might sound like its becoming a BS story, but ive personally seen the car turn an 11 second 1/4, with a little more in it.

Now I just want to hit another track for a "second opinion", lol.

Ask the guy in the camaro what he usually traps in the 1/4. Based on what I have seen, a 101-102MPH 1/8 trap usually is good for a 128ish MPH 1/4 trap. So 105 should put him into the 130s.
