OK, I think I got the hang of it...here are a couple more. Sorry the first 2 are so blurry, I messed with the size too much and lost the quality. the fronts are 215's and the backs are only 235's but there is tons of room back there. The second pic is of the back tire in the fender. It comes out to about the same spot as the originals with a 1.5" adapter behind it. The fronts have 2" adapters, but I think 1.5 would have also worked. Clearance in turns for the front tire might be pretty close with 1.5" on the front tho... anyway, here are the pics.

I really like those 2005-V6 wheels. If they were 17X8 I'd own a set. They look real nice on your '70!

I wasn't sure either way about the wheels until I realized that the "nose up" stance the car has was distracting me. So I did a quick photochop and decided I think the wheels look pretty darn good. Here's the photochop I used and I simply lowered the front a couple inches to "fix" the stance:

I forgot to mention that I lowered the air shocks in the back as much as I could to make sure that everything would clear when I hit a bump, curb, etc. I got the tires shined up and pumped the shocks up to normal so it sits about an inch higher in back than in front. I'm at work now, but I'll post the final pics when I get home.

Oh... I liked the rear ride height as it appears just fine, but the front looks a bit high. But then again, go too low and the car can be a pain to drive on the street...

I think they work on 69-70 because the lines of the car are sharper than the earlier stangs and the wheels (to me) have a similar look. To each his own...I knew these would stir interest and be different (at least for now) and that's why I did it.

i know i know...enough pics already...sorry, but I had to do the car justice! This is the look with the shocks in back raised to normal height. They'll go about 4 inches higher (if I ever need to get those slicks squeezed under there)!

I like the style of the wheels, but hate the wrong offset of them. Id much rather have deeper looking wheels IMO. Modern car wheels just usually dont work well for me on a classic. Big wheels are fine, but the offset kills me.
