you can see my engine pics where the fuel rail came loose, and went ablaze. Put it out in about 30-45 seconds. I only had to replace injector harness, o2 harness, throttle/cruise cable. Ran great for about 2 months. Then my TPS quit working. after chasing the leads down, i determined the main harness to the computer had failed. It's at a buddy's now getting the MAIN harness put in, as I don't have time nor patience for that. If you are lucky enough to not need the main harness, you're looking at an hour job. Otherwise, I'de put back at least a weekend and more to get er done. You can see my engine after the fire extenguisher went to it (had to use potassium) at www.circlecfarm.com/ourobos.htm toward the bottom. Keep us posted.

Make sure you get a 92-93 harness (if you get a used one) as they differ from 91-earlier. What caused it?

You may want to contact Painless Wiring for a new harness. I know they make the external harness, not usre about the one under the dash.

If you go junk yard hoping just make sure you get a 92-93 harness as stated above.

Painless does not make a dash harness. But if it were the dash harness that caught fire your computer harness should be fine If it happened near the fuse panel. The dash harness is a simple change. Buy a used one and just match the connectors. I wouldnt but a painless harness they a complete **** imo. I would start with the dash harness 2 hour job and go from there.

Yes you have to take the dash off and yes it will come with a new fuse box. You might of had too high of an amp fuse in a spot and the wires heated up then melted together and started to melt other wires. That happened in my old car.

Why do you say the Painless Harness is $hit?
