you have already seen it in this thread. "look what you can do to a mustang with that money"

that will be the only thing they can say i think.

I just love the fact that they are sticking to old school roots and using modern materials. Big displacement 2V but with lightweight (titanium rods!) internals. Nasty cam and comes from the house with 3 inch exhaust. 427CI that revs to 7000!

None of that sissy OHC crap that Ford is going with. I bet Shelby is kickin himself cause he just got worked over. The new GT500 won't be able to compete with this, and I thought for sure the stang might finally get one over on the ol' vette.

Not only that, its beautiful. Its the Eva Mendez of cars. Imagine this thing with a 150 shot thrown on. And why not, everything is forged or titanium, it could take it. 600 more bucks then stock and you're in the 10s!

- screw a house, saving for a Z06

I have seen est. that the sale prices are going to be around 85-95k for a zo6 after dealer adj.

In all honesty, I would still rather have a Ford GT.

That 427 in the zo6 seems preaty much modded to hell stock, wonder what the aftermarket will be for those??

One will run bone-stock 12.x's for 40K, and one will run bone-stock high 11's for 65K (Obviously both will be marked up in price). Both of these cars are great will be awesome. They both will be respected and liked by both Ford and Chevy guys. I'll take one of each.

I don't thing the GT500 got over worked by the Vette because they are different classes of vehicles. You could say for example that the viper has been outdone, but not the GT500.

no kidding, man. wasn't that the purpose of shelby building up a mustang--to whoop the poo out of a vette? poor guy's nearing death only to see that it won't happen this time around.

I think that 427 has like 11:1 or higher comp. No boost for that thing, bottle or new pistons before adding a blower.

I also dont think the zo6 is in the same relm of the mustang, never has been. How many cars will they sell is the factor and I think the gt500 will sell or be produced in larger amounts than the zo6. The zo6 will prob. hurt the sales of the Ford GT though, and maybe dealers will drop the dealer mark up on those.

Shelby has taken on Enzo head to head and won several years in a row, and I think with his cobra was the only private racer to ever win the 24hrs at la mans overall. At least that is what I remember from some old quote and that the later gt40 project overshadowed that.

I allready posted that dealers are marking them up around $30k according to a friend of mine works at Hendricks dealership in NC.

In all honesty, I would still rather have a Ford GT.

yep!

Not sure if this is true or not, but I heard that adding LT's (WITH cats) gave a 29rwhp/63rwtq gain with everything else stock.

The cam is actually pretty weak.. Cam swap and longtubes and these babys will be on there way to 550rwhp once solid tuning is available.

Comparing the z06 to the gt500 is dumb, totally different price ranges, totally different cars. The gt500 will compete with the z06 in rwhp, but thats about it.

I dont want to get into this whole big thing, but no way your car drives like it did when it was stock.. Especially with the cam you have.

Only one way to find out how much rwhp you have -> dyno.

Zo6

Its a nice car for sure but I like the Ford GT myself and the Shelby GR1 I have had the privledge of seeing a GT in person very sweet car,and with more boost Im sure it could rival the Z06 but both cars are awesome in their own sense.Im sure when the new gt500 stang comes out they will be modding them in little time and they will be nice competitors as well.

I dont care what anyone says, but at $65k you are getting a deal! The friggin car has be done right, from motor, to body to the massive 19x12" wheels.

Good god, I could only imgine this car with a set of T72's or similar, even on low boost.

The car is basically a race ready production car..

LM motorsports put LT headers on the car and got 480rwhp w/o a tune. Dont know how much a tune will gain it, but near 500rwhp with just LTs
