Just purchased a 68 gt/cs in great condition. I want to do the right thing for restoring the body. Is media blasting enough then epoxy primer or should I use rust inhibiter prior....

Let me help you with that. I will send this to the experts over in the classic forums, they are the best in my book, well it only has one page though.

i thought I was giving good advice by moving it here, I guess I should have a disclaimer reading ' advice from me should be used at your own risk, not responsible for damage or trauma to small children or dogs'.

I just dustless blasted my 68 Shelby convt. and epoxy primered it today. If you could keep it inside away from any high humidity you could probably leave it awhile. I waited 3 days. They used a rust inhibitor in the water they use with the media so no rust if you don’t wash that off. The dustless blasting was good, I’ve used it before and no issues. They will take off any old bondo and you can see just what you have. I had a lot of previous work and have to decide what to do next bit looked good before blasting. Oh well, old cars.

Hey thanks for responding I appreciate it. Well so much for not having high humidity I live in South Florida..... But, I will look into it and see if they can pick up the car and take it to there place. I live in an HOA Community, they will slit my throat if I have that done at the house....

So when do most restorers use Por15 or Osho if I got her all apart is it worth it after the media blast or are the epoxy primers good enough
