Newbie with a couple of quick questions

I sold my 99 snake last year and bought a 66 mustang, fully restored for my son and have a couple of questions. It has a rebuilt 6 cyl and auto tranny. Bone stock (except Flowmaster) and no options (no power steering, brakes, etc).

The car runs extremely well, except when making left turns, or going over a bump. Sounds weird, but will almost always sputter and cough when making left, not right turns. I can "bounce" the car (push on the bumper) and replicate the problem. Any thoughts?

I noticed a vac hose that is not connected coming off the intake. Where does it connect?

I noticed a glass fuel filter, and noticed that there is frequently a "bubble" that appears in there. Is that normal?

Ensure that the float level in the carburetor is correct. If it is too low, it will slosh and uncover the jet, starving the engine for fuel, until the turn or bump is completed, and the fuel sloshs back to cover the jet.

The vaccum hose.....couldn't tell you without seeing it.
The brake booster, transmission modulator, distributor vacuum advance are possibilities. What size hose?

The bubble is normal in the glass fuel filter.

Thanks. I am not sure how to check/adjust the float level. I guess I need a Haynes manual? Can I do this now before I get a manual?

I am not good with sizes of hoses, but there is no brake booster, def not the dist vac advance. Tranny shifts/runs fine. The hose is larger than the dist vac line. How many hoses are supposed to go to the PVC valve? I thought it might go there????

Only one rather large vac hose goes from the PCV to a vaccuum source

At least plug the end of the "extra" vacuum hose until you figure out where it goes. Does the tranny work well? Maybe a vacuum hose to the modulator valve?

Don't waste your money on a Haynes manual... order a Ford shop manual for the '66 Mustang from Mustangs Unlimited or other vendor.

For the carb... give it a good cleaning with carburetor cleaner before you try anything else... it might just be a sticking needle valve.
